Editorial policy

Editorial and advertising policy

The site separates public-data analysis, nonprofit benefit research, and advertising. Ads must never change charity metrics, provider eligibility notes, profile indexability, or source caveats.

Editorial rules

  • Use official public data for charity facts and show source dates where available.
  • Avoid unsupported claims such as best charity, safe charity, scam, or recommended provider.
  • Search results, API responses, status pages and placeholders are not published as indexable articles.
  • Charity profiles are published only when the imported source record is complete enough to be useful.

Reviewed summary workflow

UK Charity Intelligence prepares charity profile summaries in a private editorial workflow. Public page requests do not create live profile content, charity scores, provider eligibility claims, or source facts.

Charity summary drafts are stored as internal records, default to noindex, are excluded from sitemap generation, and require deterministic quality checks plus editorial approval before any text can be considered for publication. Editorial copy, tool prompts, summaries, and implementation checklists are constrained by official source links, source dates, no-invented-discount rules, and automated quality checks before publication.

Charity facts come from the Charity Commission public extract and selected imported datasets. Nonprofit benefit claims must be backed by current official provider, official help, or authorised marketplace sources; candidates without verifiable offer text are rejected or logged as deferred.

Advertising rules

  • AdSense loads only when a valid publisher id is configured.
  • Noindex pages do not load ad slots.
  • Advertisements must not obscure official-source links, caveats, methodology, or correction routes.
  • Sponsored editorial content, if ever added, must be labelled and kept separate from computed charity metrics.
