AI grant writing tool

ChatGPT grant proposal prompt checker for charities

Use this before asking ChatGPT to improve a grant proposal, fundraising appeal, donor report, or impact narrative. The checker does not submit prompt text; it helps decide whether the material is source-backed, safe to use, and ready for human review.

Safe prompt pattern

  • Ask for structure, clarity, omissions, and alignment with funder criteria rather than asking AI to invent impact, finances, endorsements, or outcomes.
  • Include approved facts and source notes, then require the output to flag missing evidence instead of filling gaps.
  • Use anonymised examples for service-user stories unless the charity has explicit approval and a safe tool route.
  • Keep the final proposal owned by a human reviewer; AI output should be a draft or checklist, not the submitted authority.
