Important distinction: a separate OpenAI grant that happens to award API credits is not the same as a standing nonprofit API discount. The official nonprofit Help Center currently says discounts are limited to ChatGPT Business and ChatGPT Enterprise.

For ChatGPT Business Standard seats, the official nonprofit route currently lists USD 8 per user per month with annual billing or USD 10 with monthly billing. Premium seats are not discounted. Larger nonprofits may be eligible for up to 75% off ChatGPT Enterprise through sales. API usage is separate.
How to use the estimate

Does OpenAI offer a nonprofit API discount or standard API credits?
No standard nonprofit API discount or credit is listed in OpenAI for Nonprofits. The current official programme covers ChatGPT Business and ChatGPT Enterprise, so API usage needs a separate platform budget. OpenAI may run separate grant programmes that include API credits, but those are programme-specific and are not an automatic nonprofit benefit.
Can a UK registered charity apply for OpenAI for Nonprofits?
A UK charity can submit the official application because the United Kingdom is on OpenAI's supported-country list. That does not guarantee approval: OpenAI says Goodstack validates nonprofit eligibility, and the public Help Center does not publish a rule saying Charity Commission registration alone is sufficient.
How does a new nonprofit apply for ChatGPT Business pricing?
Apply first using the email intended for the ChatGPT Business account. OpenAI says that, after approval, the organisation should create the account and choose ChatGPT Business; the nonprofit price then appears during checkout.
What should an existing ChatGPT Business nonprofit do?
Submit the validation form using the email already associated with the Business workspace. OpenAI says an approved discount is prorated for the current billing cycle and applies to future billing.
Does ChatGPT Business include a BAA for a nonprofit?
No. OpenAI says it does not offer a Business Associate Agreement for ChatGPT Business and directs organisations that require one to discuss ChatGPT Enterprise with sales.
